The 4 day Kidepo National park safari tour will take you to Kidepo Valley for a wildlife, Big five animals and Birding adventure.
Prior going to Kidepo, you will first have a stop at Ziwa rhino sanctuary for Rhino tracking(1st member of the big five family).
After tracking these giants, we will proceed to Kidepo, a national park recognized by CNN as one of the top 3 National parks to visit in Africa.
About Kidepo Valley National Park and Activities
Kidepo valley National park is the best destination for nature and wildlife lovers. A remote and wild savanna. Sometimes you feel safer in the car tough there is nothing to worry about.
The park is blessed with Vast open savanna found nowhere else in Uganda, seasonal rivers, great bird life, rare game life, flora, A True African safari destination.
Kidepo valley national park is located in the north eastern part of Uganda bordering South Sudan and Kenya in the west.
This unique park is a habitat to a wide range of game from Lions ,Cheetahs, Leopards, African hunting dogs, Elands, Dikdiks, Jacksons hartebeests, Giraffes, Elephants etc.
Kidepo is bird sanctuary. This open savanna is a home to over 470 bird species.
These include; Karamoja Apalis, Black-breasted Barbet, Ring-necked Spurfowl, Yellow-billed Shrike, Golden Pipit, Taita Fiscal, Lesser Kestrel, Rufous Chatterer, Fox’s Cisticola, Fox’s Weaver, Pallid Harrier, Black-winged Pranticole, White-crested, White-bellied Go-Away bird, Hartlaub’s Turaccos, Dusky-turtle Dove, Abyssinian Scimitar bill, Jackson’s and African-pied Hornbills, Yellow-billed Shrike, Yellow and red spotted Barbet, Emin’s Shrike, and so many more.

Kidepo National Park Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Drive to Kitgum via the Rhino sanctuary
In the morning after breakfast, we start on the drive to Kidepo valley national park though we can’t reach our destination today, but we have a lot of wildlife to see.
On our way, we stop the at the Ziwa Rhino Sancturary to track one of the members of the big five animals.
The population of Rhinos in Uganda had reduced to almost extinction due to extinction.
However, this sanctuary was established as a breeding centre for the Rhinos and also it presents an opportunity to see these giants in their natural habitat.
After rhino tracking, we continue for lunch in Gulu town before arriving at Kitgum in the evening for an overnight.

Day 2: Head for Kidepo valley national park and an evening game drive
We have Breakfast in the morning and then head to Kidepo valley national park. We arrive at the park in mid morning.
We then Checking into our lodge, refresh and then have a hot lunch.
In the afternoon go out for an evening game drive search for kidepo animals; Lions, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Antelopes, Elephants, Leopards among others.
Kidepo national park has a very beautiful land scape that offers great photo opportunities.
The sun set in the park is magical and a great sight for travelers. We then Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Morning game drive, Hot springs and Cultural village
After a very early breakfast if not packed, we set off for a morning game drive in northern side of the park crossing the Kidepo river.
In this part of the park, we stand great chances of seeing Ostriches and Cheetahs. The early morning is the best time to see predators in action.
During this morning game drive, we also have a chance to experience another highlight. This is the “Kanatarok hot springs”. We also seed the South Sudanese boarder.
After this amazing experience, we return to the lodge for hot lunch and in the afternoon, we visit the Karamajong cultural village.
This is a unique culture similar to the Masai people of Kenya.
The Karamajong Leave in big settlements and many huts called the (Manyattas)
Day 4: Return to Kampala/Entebbe
In the morning we embark on a long journey from Kidepo National park to Kampala. The journey is long, 10-11 hours however, it is very scenic and full of Adventure.
We stop for lunch on the way and then head to Kampala/Entebbe, reaching in the evening.
